What: The Greater Montana Foundation will announce the findings and conclusions of the Montana Issues and News Media Preferences Survey in a news conference and Q&A session. The study addressed these questions: What issues do Montanans care most about? How do Montanans get their information about those issues?

Following the news conference, members of the media are also invited to attend a working lunch discussion with communications industry leaders to explore the survey findings in greater depth.

Why: The survey, commissioned by GMF and conducted earlier this summer by the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at the University of Montana with analytical assistance by

Public Opinion Strategies, is the first statewide survey of its kind to poll both what issues are

most important to Montanans and what sources of information they use. The random-sample

survey gives insight into the key issues and sources of information sought by Montanans, and

provides findings by age, location and other significant differences. Results of the survey will be

of high interest to Montana citizens, as well as to those who serve and communicate with them,

whether in private, nonprofit or government sectors.

Date / Time: Thursday, September 10, 11 a.m. news conference, noon lunch discussion.

Location: Auditorium / Craney Studio, Montana Historical Society, 225 Roberts, Helena.

RSVP: Lori Warden, [email protected], 406.541.2263. Capacity for the lunch discussion is limited. To reserve your spot, please RSVP by Friday, September 4.
