2023 Internship Grant Program
2023 Montana Newspaper Foundation Internship Grant Program
The Montana Newspaper Foundation will accept applications for the 2023 internship grant program through February 28, 2023. Recipients of the grants receive $2,000 to defray the cost of a paid intern.
Each newspaper selected for the grant must agree to at least match the $2,000 award from the Foundation to pay the intern’s compensation. In addition to compensation, interns may receive institutional credit, if their school allows it.
Interns must be students enrolled in an accredited post-secondary academic, professional or vocational program. In-state schools, especially students of the UM School of Journalism, should be given first preference. Newspapers selected for grants must provide the MNA office with a photo and profile of their intern for use in press releases or newsletters. Awarding grants to relatives of a selected newspapers’ owners or employees is prohibited.
Applications for the 2023 grant cycle are due by Feb 28, 2023. To download the application form, click MNF Internship application 2023
